Fine art with a fanciful architectural and interior design slant. Ben Cove's New Plastic Universal, a series of drawings, models and a large-scale prototype Art Pod sculpture, is heavily influenced by the infamous 1960's group Archigram. This is architectural design for environments and buildings that are never meant to be made; blueprints for anti-gravity dream worlds and impossibly idealistic societies. Here, he redesigns the city centre of Manchester with way-out features including a cable car system, a pod complex and an instant park. In an accompanying exhibition, Junko Mori makes poetic reverie out of interior design decoration. Her installation, Offshoot, uses a repetitive pattern of vinyl stickers to plaster the gallery's Project Space with a mutant abstract 3D hallucination.
